| I would like to share a "success story."
In January 2001, I became Sales Director for Catholic Mortuaries. I had only been with the organization for two years, and suddenly I was responsible for a sales staff that had to produce $18 million in sales.
So, I sat down at my desk, reviewed the operations, marketing and sales force, and said to myself, "Where do I begin?"
I began with people. The better the sales staff, the more likely it would be for me to achieve budget. But how do I train people, when most of them know more about commission selling than I do? The past 20 years I spent in retail and management. I was a number cruncher and marketing person, not commission and motivational!!
I joined High Achievers last June. I reasoned this was a good place to start; I would listen to individuals who were successful in selling. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
After attending each seminar, I come away with a few ideas that I use in training, problem solving, and in keeping the sales force knowledgeable in marketplace trends.
Upon implementing some of the ideas I learned at High Achievers, I experineced a high turnover of my sales force.
Thank goodness! Today, I have a better sales force with less turnover.
But the big success is an individual who came straight to us from college last September. He has attended three of your seminars, and along with updated training, is one of my top producers.
Last month, this individual, male 26 years old, never having sold anything in his life, coming into the funeral industry as his first career choice, sold in excess of $100,000.00 in pre-need arrangements!
Let me tell you, people just do not walk into this industry and achieve those types of numbers in 6 months. Even those with sales experience from other ventures.
This individual has boosted my sales and income. I can definitely say the things we have learned at High Achievers have worked.
